Are You Celebrating INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2025? Let Us Know!
This International Women’s Day (IWD), we want to highlight and support our members who are taking action to celebrate and promote gender equality. If your business or organisation is hosting an IWD event, initiative, or campaign, let us know, and we’ll share it with our community!
This Year’s Theme: #AccelerateAction
Imagine a gender-equal world—a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive, where differences are valued and celebrated.
Since 1911, International Women’s Day has belonged to everyone who cares about women’s equality. It’s a time to:
Celebrate women’s achievements
Raise awareness about discrimination
Take action to forge gender parity
Let’s work together to #AccelerateAction for #IWD2025. Every effort, big or small, makes a difference.
Celebrating Women’s Achievements: International Women’s Day 2025 Event
Frankston City Council and the Frankston Social Enterprise and Innovation Hub are proud to celebrate International Women’s Day 2025 by recognising the social, economic, cultural, and political contributions of women in our community.
We invite aspiring entrepreneurs, local businesses, grassroots organisations, community groups, and students to join us for an inspiring lunchtime panel discussion featuring three incredible female leaders who will share their insights into career opportunities, challenges, and pathways to creating positive change for women.
Meet Our Panellists:
Jackie Galloway OAM – Peninsula Community Legal Centre Cyanna McLaren – Women and Mentoring Nikki Jenkins – Gathering Tree Collective (Bayview Care)
Guiding the conversation will be our talented MC, Xanthe Rivett, from the Frankston Social Enterprise and Innovation Hub.
This is a fantastic opportunity to connect, learn, and be inspired by remarkable women making a difference in our community.
The Frankston City Council is reminding all businesses to ensure their details on the Australian Business Register (ABR) are accurate and up to date. This will help businesses receive important updates from local, state, and federal governments.
We are now using a new platform connected to the ABR to send out eNewsletters, ensuring we reach as many businesses as possible with vital information.
To stay informed, please check and update your business details, including your address and ANZIC code. Once updated, help spread the word by reminding fellow business owners to do the same!

💬 “Joining FBC has been a game-changer, opening up amazing opportunities and connections in the Frankston community.”
Waterfront Fest is always a highlight on Frankston’s community calendar. For two of our local FBC members, the event now sits as a highlight on their business calendar too, thanks to the success of their recent partnership with Hoop City Carrum Downs.
Hotel Lona & Netfocus IT joined forces to sponsor the 3×3 Hustle, with the Open Men’s division pocketing $1000 prize money, as well as plenty of individual cash rewards including 1×1’s and hoop shooting contests for all ages across both days.
As part of the sponsorship, owner of Hotel Lona’s Charles Sedgley switched gears to ‘DJ Chuck-E,’ and delivered plenty of great tunes. Hoop City’s zone fast became a space for spontaneous dancing and merch giveaways, and a highlight to the festival vibes!
“Both our businesses are so connected to the Frankston CBD,” Elizabeth from Netfocus IT explained, “but what was so great about this collab was stepping out of our own locations to connect with the community and contributing to event’s success. We know first-hand Hoop City’s expertise in supporting local Basketball skill development. We’re so thankful that their team’s passion transferred to the Waterfront Fest community, and matched everyone’s joy in being there.”
From all reports, the business trio will be reuniting for Waterfront Fest 2026.
