MSFIN stands for Mums Supporting Families In Need and it started in 2012 from a simple idea; that as a community, we can ensure no family is living without their basic daily needs being met.
MSFIN provides good quality new and second-hand emergency material aid to families who are doing it tough and who need a helping hand.
Each week, MSFIN works in partnership with over 80 social welfare agencies across metro Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula to distribute aid to families who may have found themselves in extreme circumstances due to a number of factors including domestic violence, unexpected changes in employment, severe or sudden illnesses, partner incarceration, drug/alcohol dependency, loss of housing, or natural disasters. MSFIN provides clothes, shoes, food, toiletries, baby essentials (including formula, nappies, cots, car seats, prams), bedding, toys, and cleaning products.
MSFIN is supported by a team of volunteers and provides this service free of charge. MSFIN receives no recurrent government funding and relies on the generosity and support of its local community via donations, grants and trusts, and sponsorships.
You can support MSFIN by making a donation, gifting us ya’ stuff, corporate giving or volunteering.
